VOLUNTEER

We are an association of students, teachers and other philosophy lovers who volunteer in our free time. This labour of love makes our annual program for curious young people possible. We are always on the lookout for volunteers so that the Philosophy Olympiad will never run out of steam!

What's there to do?

Here you'll find a selection of possible tasks. Contact us and we will find a task which matches your capacities, background and interests.

What are the requirements?

There's something for everyone. Contact us and we will find a task which matches your capacities, background and interests.

  • You're short on time? There are also many small or one-off tasks. For example, you can lead a workshop or help on the jury just one time.
  • You're studying or teaching philosophy? Then you've come to the right place! We really appreciate your help, especially when it comes to evaluating essays, creating tests and imparting knowledge.
  • You philosophize as a hobby? There are also many tasks without any educational requirements, for example event organization, taking care of participants, creative work (editing, photo/video, graphics), administrative tasks...
  • You don't live in Switzerland or Liechtenstein? There are also many tasks that you can do remotely!

What's in it for me?

With your commitment, you inspire bright minds and help shape the educational landscape in Switzerland. A good deed, whether according to the categorical imperative or felicific calculus. But altruism is not everything:

You will benefit from experiences where you can have fun and gain useful skills. You will be part of an international community of people who love philosophy. You can contribute your ideas and opinions.

As a member of the Philosophy Olympiad, you are also a member of the Science Olympiad umbrella organization. This means: an interdisciplinary network, active support from the office, free further training, certificates for your CV and cool events. You can find out more about volunteering with the Science Olympiad here.

Your volunteer work is unpaid, but 100% free of charge: We do not charge membership fees and expenses are reimbursed.
