Following the preliminary round, the Swiss Philosophy Olympiad is an essay competition. In the 2025/2026 school year, our finalists had the opportunity for the first time to prepare for this through individual essay coaching. We are now sharing our collection of teaching methods with teachers.

Vom 14. bis 17. Mai fand in Warschau die 34. Internationale Philosophie-Olympiade für Schülerinnen und Schüler statt. 56 Länder waren vertreten. Die Teilnehmenden diskutierten, schrieben Essays, gewannen Medaillen und erkundeten die Stadt. Zwei Schweizerinnen und eine Liechtensteinerin waren dabei.

Vom 22. bis 25. März fand in Salzburg der Bundeswettbewerb der Österreichischen Philosophie-Olympiade statt, zu dem auch Gastdelegationen aus der Schweiz und Südtirol eingeladen werden. Dank einer erfolgreichen Crowdfunding-Kampagne war die Schweiz auch dieses Jahr mit zwei Teilnehmenden am Start.

On Saturday, January 24, several young volunteers accompanied this year’s semifinalists of the Swiss Philosophy Olympiad to the Zurich Philosophy Festival. Special guests at the festival were Filipa Lüthy and Joshua Freiermuth, last year’s winners of SPO.

On January 15, 56 young philosophers attended the semifinals, which took place simultaneously in four locations.
